Michael Swain retired as a Detective 1st Grade from the NYPD after almost 21 years of service. Mike began his career with the NYPD in the South Bronx, with assignments that included street narcotics, anti-crime, and robbery investigation. Once promoted to detective, his primary investigative responsibilities were grand larceny, robbery and homicide. As a decorated detective he successfully developed and implemented methods to identify crime trends and patterns, a precursor to the NYPD’s vaunted COMPSTAT process to track crime. His special assignments included dignitary protection of foreign heads of state visiting the United Nations. After retiring from the NYPD, Mike became a licensed Private Investigator and started his own company. An experienced law enforcement professional, Mike specializes in criminal and civil investigations, safety and security consulting, and litigation support. He has provided security, background checks and investigative work for Fortune 500 companies, and investigated thousands of mortgage frauds during the financial crisis from 2007-2010.
